Snow!

Damn, it snowed.

It's been cold lately--in the teens-- and a trip to Girdwood on Monday made me feel right at home in the snowbelt of Michigan.

Notice how heavy the snow is on some of the trees. It was pretty amazing.

I'm pleased with the election results. It's such a relief, really, knowing that I don't have to worry about Palin's craziness in the national arena--not for a few more years, anyway. I became concerned, however, when I watched the finale of season 3 of Doctor Who the other day.

The Master is clearly one of the best villains in the series and his return made for one of the best finales I've seen so far. Basically, the story is this:

The Master, a timelord, is discovered hiding at the end of the universe. He steals the Doctor's TARDIS and legs it back to the 21st century where he mesmerizes the entire nation (the UK) and eventually becomes Prime Minister. Of course, he develops a plot to take over the world, kill lots of humans, and start an intergalactic war...and the Doctor and his companions have to stop him.

Kind of reminds me of Barack Obama. Not that I think any of that is going to happen BUT he just seems to have had an incredible power over the nation. His charisma, good looks, and passion seem to have infected many people, inspiring them to actually get out and vote. The "cult of Obama" is something that I've discussed on occasion seeing as I live in a "red" state and have several Republican friends.

Not that I think it's a cult.

But it's dangerously close.
