It's Saturday night. Do you know where your Emily is?

The most wonderful thing about Anchorage is the Sitka Summer Music Festival. Sure the Autumn Classics series is in Anchorage and in the fall but there's no better classical music gig in town. Next year I'll plan better and be able to get season tickets. It's six performances, two weekends and $125. I can do that.

It's on the campus of University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA)/Alaska Pacific University (APU). It's beautiful there this time of the year. There's a good view of the mountains, lots of trees and trails through the woods. There are a couple of bodies of water (I wouldn't call them lakes so much). There are always moose sightings and occasionally a bear or two. It's really nice. Last night before the show we took a little walk (I made a collage):

When the classical music was over we watched Battlestar Galactica. Yeah, I know. Wild. That's about how cool we are.

I was thinking last night about how talented and passionate the musicians were about this great music. I watched them delicately handle their four stringed instruments and play the sweetest music...it made me think. The ukulele can't really be that difficult. I've hardly touched the thing since I came back from Michigan. I think I've hit a wall on my learning.
